For paint thinning, Thin paint until it is the consistancy of milk for airbrushing. For flat, I use about 60% paint, 40% thinner. I don't use gloss paint, so I couldn't tell you! Cool [8D]Sign - Welcome [#welcome]

First off Welcome to the forms!

1) Wash - A wash it really thinned paint the is applied to the AFV, Plane etc... to bring out detail, you may also wish to apply a wash over the whole model. I use burnt umber thinned at a 9:1 ratio (9 parts water and 1 part paint) you may wish to thin more but most of us thin at that ratio (I thinkBig Smile [:D])

2) Dry brushing - Dry brushing is when you dip your brush into the paint color that you want and whip it on tissue until it is hardly visible, then go over the model to bring detail to all the high part - bolts, open areas etc...

3) Shading - Shading is usually done with an airbrush, you can apply the base color, than thin it and spray it over the open areas that are exposed to the sun light. You can also pre-shade, where you spray black over all the panel lines and then spray your base coat lightly and let the black show through.

If you have any more questions feel free to ask.

Anthony.
