weathing decals

I am not an experienced weatherer, but for my Curtiss P-40, Revells Tiger Shark, I plan on making it appear war torn. I will try some salt chipping, and according to other threads one of the biggest set back with this one is not letting the water dry. Does you have any advise for aging the decals?

Make sure you seal the decals before you weather, prefferably Future over it or any other clear coat.

I use a very light misting of light gray or very diluted Tamiya Flat base to tone down the color. Wash the panel lines (I use oil wash) in the decals. Add paint chips using a silver artist pencil. Like the previous advise says, make sure you seal them before you do this.

You put down a gloss coat and/or Future for decal addhesion and then another coat to seal it then to get the dull worn look that you want, you cover with a dull coat. The Future or gloss coat is just for decals and weathering so that you don't harm your base color.works great try it, it kind of scared me at first too.Blush [:I]

Sign - Ditto [#ditto]], just give the Future a coupla days to cure, You don't need to thin it, just spray it on, or brush it if you have no AB. Clean AB with Windex, warm soapy water with a little ammonia for brush. Apply a coupla coats of Dull-coat.

Be good & have FUNBig Smile [:D],
