I used hollow brass tube, .06 DIA, available at most online shops. Cut to length with a dremel tool,. You don't mention which variant of P-40 you are doing. If it is a six gun in the wings, you're home free, but the earlier versions had a cooling jacket around the barrels, ( two guns per wing) which you might be able to find in a PE set.

I sometimes replace kit pieces with hypodermic needles.

Making guns for P-40

Instead of using the kit pieces I thought that I would try something new I would use metal pieces for the guns. I read this somewhere but I don't know what the metal pieces were, it really looked nice though, really helped the image. Does anyone know what I am talking about and maybe any tips.
