canopy gap
Posted by ozmod on Friday, September 23, 2005 7:42 PM
Please help,

I am currently building Monograms 1:48 Heinkel 111 and I have a one millimetre gap at the top between the canopy and the nose bubble. How should this be filled? I have already painted the canopy frames but have not permanantly attached the two pieces to the body yet . Any suggestions???

Thanks Ozmod

Ozmod-glue it in place and fill the gap with white glue or Kristal Klear. Once dry-use a touch-up brush for the final colour.

PS-Glue it in place with white glue or Kristal Klear.

I agree with Trowlfazz. White glue is, in my opinion, the safest way to go where clear plastic is involved. I'd also recommend that you thin it a little with some plain water. That will allow it to wick down into the gap better. It may take several applications, but it will work fine.

I have this stuff called Testor's clear parts glue and window maker in a square bottle. I have never used it, but it might work.

I haven't used it but I think it's similar to white glue. It just adheres to plastic a little better.
