I've made seat belts for aircraft and ALICE suspenders for 1/35 figures from lead foil that I got from my dentist (they're used to protect the x-ray film prior to use and get thrown away when finished).

The belts on this P-40 were made using foil from a cigarette pack, but the buckles are PE from the kit. Others use the foil from around the neck of wine bottles.
