For extended shelf life I keep mine in the refrigerator.... I heard that somewhere on the Internet or in a hobby shop. I also heard somewhere to NOT let it get back to room temperature and re-cool again, repeated temperature fluctuations afffect it some how. But who knows, I haven't any problems yet with that.

I also just unscrew the cap and use something else (toothpick, needle) to transfer glue to the part that needs gluing. I never use that damn tip... once was enough!

actually mine is in a tube with a screw on tip so it's easy for me to unplug the tip or I can take it directly from the tube.

Shelf-life of super glue. This is one of my personal battles at my hobby table. After your superglue dispenser gets a build up of glue on the inside near the tip, and you start to get in trouble. When you use it, if you wait too long, 10 mins sometimes, the glue will not have fallen back into the bottle, but will set in the tip. Since we know that the glue will be harder than the plastic dispenser, we're in trouble. Eventually, you'll find yourself cutting that tip back constantly just to get some glue out.

Here's what I do, though the effort is still unsatisfactory. Everytime I use the glue, I repeatedly jam a thin peice of metal wire into the dispenser until I force the glue back down into the bottle. Glue builds up on the wire, of course, so I wipe if off. When it sets on the wire, I scrape it off with the back of a blade.

If there are better ways to keep your superglue useable, I really, really want to hear them. Please!
