Hey Bro, Mr. surfacer does have that one flaw..multiple applications.. but after the 2nd or 3rd application with 2 min intervals your good to go. that is if it's a minor gap. for bigger seams just use regular putty first.. then the surfacer. its a great 1-2 punch!

I've never tried Mr. Surfacery myself.

I've begun using Aves ApoxieSculpt exclusively for filling.  It's a 2 part epoxy putty that doesn't shrink and you can smooth it out so well you barely have to sand after it dries.

This might sound silly...  Blush [:I]

I build car models and have worked in the automotive field for years.

I do "almost" the same as on the real cars
primer, spot putty (same as used on real cars), wet sand, primer, ...

what is your steps in puttying?

For like small gaps and ejection pin marks, do you fill in first with like regular putty, sand then put another coat of maybe like mr surfacer 500 or 1,000 over that?

The reason i ask is sometimes i just start off using Mr surfacer 500 or 1,000, but I seem to have to fill it in with a good two or three coats, or layers. Was wondering if you all used someting ahead of that.
