When coloring string grass(un-wound string) I found that instead of using dye or paint I use colored markers.
this allows me to shade the grass and also blend colors easier.
You'll find that it also allows for that extra bit of white that can give more detail to the grass!
Plus the cost is pretty cheap and colors are plenty, and if you run out at 2am..........the drug store has got your back!!
