Iwata Neo O-rings
Posted by rooster513 on Wednesday, August 24, 2016 7:14 AM

Hey all, I need new o-rings for the paint cup and nozzle of my Iwata Neo. I've tried contacting two different people from Iwata website with no luck. I plan to bring them to a hardware store and see if I can find a size that will work but wanted to ask here to see if anyone knows what size they are? Also is there someplace online that I can order just the o-ring? The manual just says "Paint Cup & O-ring" but doesn't give a size. Thanks!

Couple of pics to show the o-rings in question.

The paint cup...

And the nozzle...

A couple of quick searches turned up these links (UK based)

https://airbrushes.com/product_info.php?products_id=21407

It seems it's almost as expensive to replace the o-ring as the nozzle itself, complete with o-ring.

Hope this helps.

For the nozzle, I would try just using a little bees wax or Chapstick on the threads.  If you don't get bubbles in the cup, it's enough.

You might also try an auto parts store for O-rings.

Thanks for the links Phil. As you said it looks like it would be just as much to buy a new nozzle. With the 40% off coupon I can pick one up from Hobby Lobby for around $10.

Never thought of that for the nozzle Don. I do plan to swing by the local auto parts store and see if we can't match one up. Thanks for the feedback!

You already know that some common Iwata replacement parts are available at Hobby Hobby.

I've bought the other Iwata parts from Chicago Airbrush Supply, more or less my go to place for airbrush stuff.

My paint cup O-ring came apart a while back.  I wrapped the threads with teflon tape and it worked like a charm.

You know Chienlaid I had thought about trying that but haven't had a chance. I'll give it a go since it has worked well for you. Thanks!

Maybe I will give them a call and see what they can do about getting me just an o-ring. As far as I know they don't sell them seperate, but it's worth the call. Thanks for the suggestion.

In my town there is a company that specializes in hoses, clamps, air and fluid fittings. Pretty much any hydraulic equipment needs are found there. I was amazed by the huge number and sizes of rubber, plastic, neoprene and teflon O rings that were in their inventory.

Prices were just a few cents apiece, so many of the retail stores today only sell them in packages of multiples. It's worth a look through your local phone book, to see if there is something like that near you.

Don Wheelers bees wax tip works great, it's a very effective sealer. Good luck with your search.
