Iwata HP-BS
Posted by Redman7176 on Monday, February 13, 2017 3:56 PM

Does anyone have an opinion on the Iwata HP-BS? About $100 less than the $240 HP-BH. I was wondering if anyone has one and what they think. I have used a basic Badger 150 for years, time to upgrade.

Thanks

I went from a Badger 150 to that Iwata also.I enjoy the gravity fed over the jar,it was easy to master and easy to clean.I understand their customer service is top notch also.

I really like mind.  It is easy to clean and really does a nice job of laying the paint down or clear coat down.  I had a cheap "Master" AB and it always took me 10 minutes to clean because the control button would easly fall out but was a bear to put back in.  The IWATA I can clean in under 2 minutes.

Your title states HP-CS, but your question references HP-BS.

I like my HP-CS just fine, lots of folk here use one.

The BS looks dandy as well, but for me, I think the cup size would be too limiting.

I have one, but I only use it for fast touch-ups because it's easier to clean than the HP-CS.  The needle and nozzle size us the same, so there is not advantage there.  Also the cup is too small for painting an entire model, and the airbrush is longer from the cup to the tip than I would like for detail work.  If you're looking for an airbrush to do fine work, then the HP-BH is going to be a much better choice.

I decided to go with a HP-CS for its all around versatiltiy and larger cup.

I only use one airbrush so I think this one hopefully will be an all around good one. About as small of detail airbrushing I do is pre-shading panel lines.

One question, you guys that have these Iwata Eclipses what psi range do you find best when spraying properly thinned Tamiya, or MM acrylics?

Thanks for the feedback guys.
