Removing Alclad Aqua Gloss
Posted by RadMax8 on Sunday, April 15, 2018 10:01 AM

Hello! I recently purchased some Alclad Aqua Gloss For use in clearcoating. I also heard it’s really good for dipping canopies, so I figured I would give that a shot. Well unfortunately it’s been a while since I’ve dipped canopy and I got some fuzzz and bubbles on the glass.  I need to give another shot, but I’m not sure what to use to strip the AquabGloss off. Any advice?

 Thanks in advance!

Windex (soak) should work.

I'm pretty sure, not 100%.

You're welcome, and please do report back.

If for some reason I'm wrong I'd like to know. At any rate, I don't think it'll hurt anything.

So after leaving my clear parts in windex, here’s what I have to report:

Windex does remove Alclad Aqua Gloss, however it does not totally dissolve it. Rather, it sort of pulls it off the surface of the plastic slightly. I was able to rub the parts to get everything off. Once a quick rinse was done, parts were ready to dip again.

Thanks again for the tip, Greg!

You're surely welome. And thank you for taking the time for report back, that was thoughtful of you.

Glad it worked out for you and the clean up wasn't too bad.
