a common problem for me when I'm doing race liveries is i'll get tape "marks" on certain areas of the body.
Its not sticky so not leftover tack from the tape.
I usually let the body cure 2 days between paint stages.
Washing doesn't seem to help remove the markings.
In the past I've ignored it, cleared over it and sometimes it resolves itself and sometimes it doesn't but decal application then final clear hides the last of the markings.
I'm looking to improve my technique so any advice on resolving this minor issue would be great.

If you're using enamel, it's probably still soft enough to leave tape impressions. Might have to let it cure for up to a week, or set up a box with a light bulb to force dry.
Better question is what type of tape are you using? Regular masking tape if not recommended for masking. Too harsh and will leave a lot of tackiness behind or worse, pull paint off.
I use Yellow (or Green) Frog tape. Tamiya Tape or even Blue painter tape. Most of the time, I use Yellow Frog Tape.
VintageRPMHow long do you leave the tape on? I remove mine almost immediately after painting - say 5-15 minutes. That eliminates a lot of tape issues.

Removing tape before the paint sprayed over it can begin to fully cure also tends to give sharper, cleaner edges, with less chance of chipping when the tape pulls up.

Need more curing time specially when taping. The cooler weather slows the curing process.
Too many models to build, not enough time in a lifetime!!
