New airbrush company in Canada

Come across the web site of Hobbipen Company in Canada. It seems like a direct sales, house brand only dealer catering to the mid price range products. The web site does not offer any information about the product quality, such as who makes the AB and compressors and where.

The compressors looks like Sparmax and the prices are reasonable. Anyone knows anything about this company and their source of products?

Just had a quick look, the Hobbipen G535-B looks exactly like my Sparmax SP-35C, and has the same specs.

Mine:

Later, I found out that the same company offered Iwata and Hobbipen from Hong Kong using the name Whose-Depot. They have free shipping to the United States for orders over $250, which is a lot cheaper than their Canadian countpart. The Hobbipen G535B is described as:

The G535-B Pro is an unique airbrush with another class of its own. The 0.35mm needle & nozzle is ideal for broad strokes on the face and body allowing for quicker coverage. The G535-B Pro is designed to provide amazing atomization at low pressures and air flows. Therefore, the G535-B Pro is small compressor friendly, which will surely reduce your equipment and operating costs. The G535-B Pro is perfect to operate with the HobbiAir Mini Pro compressor to form a portable airbrush system.

How do you like your Sparmax SP-35C? The Hobbipen G-530C is priced like 1/3 off the price of the Iwata HP-CS. I wonder how their quality compare.

I haven't used an Iwata, so I have no basis for comparison.

The build quality of the SP-35C is very good - I believe the body may be brass, with a very highly polished chrome plating. It has a decent weight to it, not heavy, but enough to know you're holding something, if you know what I mean.

The spray pattern is extremely fine with very good edge definition and I am able to get very clean lines down to about 1-1.5mm. However, I am a little handicapped here as I am using an ancient diaphragm compressor and the pulsations start to come into play. Tongue [:P] It will, as described, work at very low air pressures (how low I can't say because I only have a bleeder valve to provide pressure adjustment and no gauge). Control is very precise, the trigger provides a wide range of movement with very proportional control. The only problem I have is that the trigger lever is very short but has a long throw and can get a little uncomfortable in extended use.

I like it... Cool [8D]

PS: I paid about $82.00 (Aud) for mine about 2 years ago.
