I use some Turtle wax buffing cream to make my paint shiny. It cost me like $5 and it'll last me a lot of model cars. Use this and good surface prep and you should be on your way to a shiny car! Be careful, too much buffing will burn through the paint! Don't ask how I know...

Think 1:1 scale. That is paint the car as a autobody shop would paint a real car. Follow the same steps as they would. You don't need to purchase any expensive polishing sets. Just visit your local drug store and pick up some fingernail polishing sticks. Use the course section then the finer section along with a little water with a drop of dishsoap in it to help pick up and hold the dust. Rinse well and repeat.

1. Surface preparation...make it as smooth as you can.

2. Regardless of what paint you use, if it isn't glossy enough, try spraying clear Future over it. It will shine!!!

Well one of the best ways is to use an LMG Enteprises polishing kit.It contains special wet /dry sandpaper in grits frm 3200 to 12000.Does a great job in removing orange peel,Here is an example of the results that can be achieved.

Tips for painting gloss?
Posted by GRANT ED on Tuesday, May 12, 2009 4:20 AM
I reciently painted the body of my first car. It is gloss black. This was my first attempt at painting gloss and although the finish turned out ok I would like some tips from the experts. I mixed the paint and sprayed as per normal although I did try the final "wet" coat. The finish is slightly rough. Not real bad but it is noticable. The hardest thing I found was when doing the wet coat the edges looked 'dry' and rough. How do I get the mirror finishes I see on this site?
