This idea may not be original, but I never heard it before, and it does work. I saw an item in a small tools catalog once where they were selling a small jar with a wound length of wire in the bottom of the jar. The explanation was to fill the jar with paint thinner for cleaning your brushes by dipping them in the thinner and rubbing the brush over the coiled wire on the bottom to loosen any stubborn bits of paint. I never did buy this product, nor could I easily lay my hands on what I thought may be a good gauge of wire, so I bought those small clear marbles, the kind some people put in vases for decoration, and placed a few in the bottom of my jar of thinner. Fantastic...it works great, it loosens every bit of paint off my brushes without harming them and the first wash is usually always enough for a super clean brush. The marbles are cheap and readily available at many stores. Try it, I think you'll be pleased. |
