Need tips...
Posted by Mr_Synister on Sunday, June 21, 2009 6:03 PM
I've been away from the modeling scene for some time now, and I just started building my huey hog and I must say that my painting skills s*ck pretty badly. I am using brushes so take that into consideration. Please, all you veterans, pass me your tips and tricks so I can make my models come out better.

ok, well its been a loooooong time since i painted a model with a brush...however, using the same knowledge as my figures...thin your paints so they just "cover" the area/model. you dont want to make it look like its "caked" on (not that u would but not knowing your knowledge hard to tell). apply washes where needed and drybrush the high spots. can go into more detail...but not knowing what ya do/dont know its kinda hard...but hope that at least helps!

Hi, and welcome to the forums.

Can you describe what sort of issues you're having while painting? And please let us know what type of paint you're using, as some types of paint (eg. Tamiya acrylic) don't necessarily brush paint very well straight out of the bottle, but with a little preparation and care in application, one can obtain better results.

(If you're using Tamiya acrylics, this may be of assistance: /forums/992589/ShowPost.aspx

And as far as paints go I am currently using some Testors and some Model Masters paint.
