What do you reckon?

Shopping for a new compressor and heard that Iwata is good and miraculously found these two in a city notoriously difficult to find product in.

Ouch - a bit rich for me.

You might like to check this one out too - these people are based in SA.

Same model (IS925HT), but apparently less $173.00

(even so, still too rich for me)

If noise isn't a major factor, I'd look at a worksjhop compressor - it'd probably come in under $200, be more than powerful enough for your airbrush and versatile enough for many other tasks around the home.

Their price on Iwata compressor is amazingly competitive. The US importer does not have the HT (Handle Tank) models. But comparing other model prices, such as the Power Jet Lite, in the US, the difference is very small. It pays to shop around.

I always heard this complaint about the Australian paying 2-3 times more than in the US for the same model of Badger airbrush. Is the same true for Iwata AB's?

The Iwata compressors are good, but pricy. How about the Sparmax compressors? Is it practical to order them from Hong Kong or Taiwan?

I have a sparmax. It only goes upto 10 psi and can't be fitted with a tank. With that being said, $175 was a bit pricey. I can't order online yet, because I'm not quite 18 (no credit card).

If you have Sparmax dealer in town, ask them about the Sparmax Professional Series Compressors. Both the TC-2000 (w/o tank) and AC-500 (with tank) are excellent for the money.

They are selling for about US$150 and $200 in the US. http://airfuego.com/ It is interesting to find out how much they are in Australia.
