Air Brush HELP!!!!!
Posted by Doccafs on Friday, July 24, 2009 2:33 PM

Ok it has been along time from my last post, but here is my problem.

I have a  Eastwood Professional Custom Graphics Airbrus. It now spits paint and stops spraying pain. It does not matter how thing the paint is. I can even run water or windex in it and it does the same thing, It has been kept very clean after every color. It is never used for any paint other then Acryl Pints (water base paint). The other thing is does is it will blow bubbles back into the paint cup no matter what I have in it, the thinner the more it happens. Like I said this Is a CLEAN Air Brush in side and out. any one have an idea why it is doing this. this Ar Brush is 5 years old and I know other guys with it and they have some that are older and newer and never had this happen.  This was a good gun and did every thing i wanted it to do from fine to thick lines...

here is the air bursh link

I am not expert but it sounds like it is clogged. I would soak the airbrush in some solvent.  Use the strongest you can find, if acryllic try windex, amonia or 90% achool.   That should loosen the clog.  The bolw air though with a high psi to blow anything else free.  If you ahve access and ultrasonic clean would help.

thanks I have cleaned it several times and I use windex and all opening are also cleaned with a brushes (cleaning kit) only thing I never did was oil the needle but it is clean and not bent. I had one friend asked about o rings in it. I know of one on the tip to shape the air and paint coming out of it (air cone) i think it is called. that is the only o ring i have seen or come across. I have had it apart somany time I can do it in my sleep. I have had this airbrush for 5 years now and it never did anything like this before.

You may need to rebuild the airbrush if cleaning it no longer does the job.

If this airbrush has bee around for 5 years or more and has not a single user review at the dealer's page, it sounds strange.

Ok

Well I got a rebuild kit for it. All it had was a needle and nozzle for the needle. No luck on getting it fixxed yet. I called and talked to a teck and he thinks one of the seals inside the airbrush went bad. I have a list of parts and now have to see about geting parts to replace all the air seals in the airbrush. I am using a friends air brush ( same one from eastwood as mine ) and it has been sitting in the box for 4 years unopened & never used. It works great. I have talked to alot of guys that have this air brush and they like it. It does thin lines to wide spray. depends on air pressure and if you remove the spray cone (tip). I am very happy with mine up until the the seal went bad. I will leave a review after I see how hard it is to get the extra parts for it or see what the do about helping me futher. Ill post a update here also..

Just a couple of thoughts... 1) You state that you've cleaned the air brush. Have you cleaned the needle? IMO, the smaller the needle opening, the greater effect that paint build-up on the needle can have. 2) Do you have any constriction or paint build-up in your valve? That can also affect the AB.

My point is that even the seemingly most insignificant obstruction will affect the flow of paint in an AB. I have a riding lawn mower. Earlier this summer is started sputtering and dieing after a few minutes of operation. I changed the air-filter. I changed the fuel filter. I was ready to take the carb off and get it torn down and repaired. That day, as I pulled it out to take the carb off, I happened to be taking the fuel filler cap off and noticed the filler cap vent hole (about the size of a pencil tip) had white powder in it.

Turns out, after lending the mower to a neighbor who stores drywall in his garage, the vent hole was clogged. If the mower sat for 10 minutes or so, gravity would pull enough fuel into the line for the mower to run a few minutes. But the vacuum created by the clogged vent kept fuel from refilling the line, thus is stalled out.

Check everything and the simple things a few times. It may help you find your problem.

i had a similar problem with my snap on tools airbrush with it spitting etc i only spay acrylics too

i bought some createx airbrush restorer. stripped the airbrush down completley and soaked it. I was surprised how much dried paint was eaten away out of an airbrush i thought was clean.
