Just a couple of thoughts... 1) You state that you've cleaned the air brush. Have you cleaned the needle? IMO, the smaller the needle opening, the greater effect that paint build-up on the needle can have. 2) Do you have any constriction or paint build-up in your valve? That can also affect the AB.
My point is that even the seemingly most insignificant obstruction will affect the flow of paint in an AB. I have a riding lawn mower. Earlier this summer is started sputtering and dieing after a few minutes of operation. I changed the air-filter. I changed the fuel filter. I was ready to take the carb off and get it torn down and repaired. That day, as I pulled it out to take the carb off, I happened to be taking the fuel filler cap off and noticed the filler cap vent hole (about the size of a pencil tip) had white powder in it.
Turns out, after lending the mower to a neighbor who stores drywall in his garage, the vent hole was clogged. If the mower sat for 10 minutes or so, gravity would pull enough fuel into the line for the mower to run a few minutes. But the vacuum created by the clogged vent kept fuel from refilling the line, thus is stalled out.
Check everything and the simple things a few times. It may help you find your problem.
