actuially, it wont.  I put water into enamel paint thinging it was acrylic, the water went to the top and the enamel thinner inside went to the bottom so I just put it in my AB and sprayed and it got ALL the water out.

You can also put a sprue or something in a drill or your dremel and use it as an auto paint stirrer

Hi David,

Did you stir the paint sufficiently? The paint may have been on the hobby shop rack for a while. When left for a period of time, such as on the hobby shop paint rack, it can and does settle out of suspension. Often, simply shaking the jar a few times isn't enough. You need to stir the paint with a suitable implement until it flows smoothly and there are no lumps or strings. If you stir for what seems an eternity (say 5+ mins) and there are still lumps and/or strings, there's a good chance the paint has "gone off".

Another possible cause for lumps/chunks is using an inappropriate thinner. If you put enamel thinner in acrylic paint or acrylic thinner (or water) in enamel paint, it will usually cause incurable lumpiness. (This may even happen using an incompatible acrylic thinner with an acrylic paint.)

What do you mean 'Chunky' like the pain is in solid chunks?  Then just add some thinner to the bottle (which you should anyhow) and mix it untill its a liquid again.  All paint will become chunky and solid if its not mixed.

Hi Guys,

I recently received a new bottle of Model Master Coast Guard Red Acryl.  Upon opening up the jar, it was very "chunky".  A friend stated that he had a similar problem with two seperate orders of the Model Master Acryl Coast Guard Red and Orange.  Has anyone else had this problem?  Is there any way to salvage this paint?  Thanks.

Sincerely,

David
