                        Having finally got my hands on some Klear, I've used it to dip my canopy, and also put a coat on before and after decalling.

                        Before using Klear I used to finish a model by applying a coat of matt varnish to seal everything in. Do I still need to do this? Or does the Klear act as a seal anyway? I'm happy with the finish in terms of how matt it is by the way.

                        Advice appreciated as always!

                        I'm not 100% sure, but I'm pretty sure that the Future seals everything. I havn't tried it yet, just afraid of the Future clogging up the AB. Good luck!

                        If you're happy with the way it looks, you don't need to cover it.  It's a nice hard finish.  The only time I spray over it is if I want a matt finish.

                        Future is just a water based acrylic and it's no worse for clean up than any other water based acrylic.  I think most people use Windex with ammonia or lacquer thinner.  But, there's no need to airbrush it.  It goes on very nicely with a flat sable brush.

                        Thanks guys, and Don - that's exactly what I have done - I don't have an airbrush (yet) - this particular model (first using Klear) was a Hobbyboss Rafale C in 1:48, painted with rattle cans. Only problem I experienced with brushing Klear is that a little goes a long way, and I got a couple of 'puddles'.

                        Thanks anyway as I hate brushing on varnish!

                        Good point!  You don't want to brush it on too heavy.  According to Swanny's Complete Future, which I heartily recommend, you can remove dried puddles with a Q-tip dampened with Windex with ammonia.
