Hi Leo,

This cross-reference list may help: http://www.cybermodeler.com/color/rlm_ww2_ena.shtml

It looks like you could paint the light blue base (RLM76) and then mask the light bands using strings of silly putty or Blu-Tac or something similar.

Iliad designs BF109F help with colour scheme
Posted by zapme on Tuesday, September 22, 2009 5:13 AM

Hi everyone,

My next project will be the 1/48 Airfix BF109F. My question is the colour scheme. It will be the second from the top of the pic

How is the best way to achieve this look? The squiggle pattern is light blue and looks like soft edges. The other colours are, background-grey-green 74 with blotches of maroonish shading maybe wine red 28 or red-brown 61. As I've not had much experience with luftwaffe colour schemes help would be much appreciated. Alternately has anyone done this scheme and can forward some tips.

My other question is about these colour numbers. Where can I get a listing of the coresponding colours to numbers and which paint company would make these.

cheers Leo
