Thanks Guys for your help and I think I'll go with the Promodellers way. Safer for me.

Easiest stuff I found to use is Promodeller's weathering wash - goes on easy, cleans up easy.  I've used it on most of my builds as I can't figure out ratios of paint/thinner/dish soap to make a decent wash.

You could apply a dark wash to the model before decaling if these are recessed panel lines. Or use a technical pen. These are available at most higher end craft stores as well as office supply stores. Three sizes you need: 0, 00 and 000.

You could also use very thin pinstriping tape made by Chartpac.

There are a number of options available, including:

  • localised wash using thinned paint
  • very fine point marking pen
  • draftsman's pen
  • draftsman's ink bow

With the two latter options, if you use Indian ink to fill the lines, if there is any overflow or uneven application, you can simply use a damp paper towel to remove the excess (assuming that it's been applied to a glossy surface - if applied to a flat surface it may leach into the surface and will be difficult to remove)

Hi, I was wondering on how you guys paint these kinds of lines (encircled ones). I'm not really good in painting with my hands really steady. Definitely I would paint some outside the line.
