Will this work?
Posted by Tanis103 on Tuesday, October 13, 2009 1:32 PM

I'm just getting back into modeling and I was wonder if you can use a Sharpie thin point pen to highlight the panals on a jet before you paint it with grey? I'm working on a 1/72 A-10 right now and I seen guys airbrush within the panal lines to highlight it before they paint it but I have never airbrush before and being 1/72 scale it seems it would be easy to mess up.

Thanks for you help.

I haven't tried this myself, but I recall there are posts here from people who have, who report that the Sharpie ink has a tendency to bleed through the top coats and looks quite exaggerated.

If this is your first attempt at airbrushing a model, I'd suggest practicing on something expendable first before committing paint to styrene.
