What paints to use for special plane
Posted by Seacondor on Thursday, October 22, 2009 12:29 AM

I have a model I'm make that is a bit unusual. Arado Ar81 V3

So it painted in old Luftwaffe colours. Can anyone tell me what Tamiya colours I should use for the following colours?

RLM 61

RLM 62

RLM 63

I would like to get this plane right as it is so different.

Since Tamiya does not have FS numbers you are going to have to eyeball it and mix your own colors until you think it looks about right.

These are German WW2 colors. You can find the FS and RAL equivalents here. They did not list the Tamiya colors, only Revell and Humbrol.

The Tamiya color is more limited. Try Humbrol or Model Master (both enamel and acrylic). I have seen the MM colos for RLM on the FSM articles.
