All,
something really weird has just happened to my latest paint job. I can't post pics but will try to explain:
I primed my kit with Tamiya acrylic from a rattle can. For pre-shading I drew on all the panel lines with a permanent marker. Painted kit with Vallejo acrylic (and in the process totally obscured the panel lines). Coat of Klear (Future). Decals. Coat of Klear. An enamel wash. Tiny touch of weathering. Flat clear with Humbrol acrylic flat varnish from rattle can.
Within about 10 minutes of putting on the matt varnish, the permanent marker panel lines have just shown through!
It wouldn't matter if I had done a better job on them but I was a bit heavy handed as I knew they'd be pretty much covered with the Vallejo acrylics. A tidier job and it would actually be a pretty cool effect!
Now I can assume that the Humbrol flat coat is the culprit, but it can only be reacting to the enamel wash. Yet everything else is fine, just the marker pen coming through. But it's coming through acrylic followed by Future!
What's going on? Any ideas?
I'm too clumsy:-(
