Alternative to Furure?
Posted by Milairjunkie on Wednesday, November 11, 2009 9:00 AM

I am currently using Future for clear coat with Tamiya Flat Base when required, but I am not really that satisfied with it. In particular I dont like the way it seems to lay down in a droplet fashion & then flattens out - I seem to keep finding myself loading to much on trying to get a smooth finish straight out of the brush & often end up drowning things.

Is there anything out there that is airbrushable, compatible with Tamiya Flat Base & can be built up to a smooth finish in the regular way as opposed to the "self levelling" method of Future?

Thanks.

The Polly water soluble clear coats are great.

Hawkeye, do you know who makes this paint & if they have a web site?

Thanks.

Milairjumkie,

If you can get it over there, Gunze's clear flat acrylic (H-20) works great too. No messing around mixing with Flat base, just put it in your AB and spray. (you can airbrush it unthinned, but it goes on better when you thin it)
