Colors such as white, yellow and orange are by nature very translucent and need to be applied over a proper primer such as flat white. If you are getting runs you are applying too fast and too thick of an application. Light misting coats to gradually build up to the color opaquness you're after.

Work in stages, build up the layers pausing in between to give them a chance to setup and partially cure.

Thinning Model Master & Testors (issues?)

Folks,

I'm starting to come to the conclusion that some colors mix / thin better than others. Am I NUTS? (With reference to the question that is.)  I use testors thinner and have used laquer thinner as well.  It seems that the light colours are more prone to this phenomenon, but not across the board. What I notice is that these colours either are too thick to spray or too thin and if sprayed more than VERY lightly, just start to puddle and run. I've run into this problem with both of my airbrushes and I don't believe its airbrush related. (One Iwata and one badger.)

Thoughts? Suggestions? or am i nuts?

Cheers

David
