Airbrush problems

I have been fighting with my PAASCHE HS airbrush. I have the compressor working OK. I get air out of the airbrush but no paint. I have a paint cup that I have attached. The paint cup goes into the receptical OK and stays there. As a test I attempted using some water to spray through it. It did not come out, just air. I attempted using properly thinned Polly Scale paint, still no go. I have ordered the correct type of paint bottle (HS-1OZ) for it. As soon as it arrives I will give it another go.

Now the question. Am I doing anything wrong? Is it just the nut behind the wheel? Any suggestions or comments would be welcome. Color me FRUSTRATED!!!!!!

Currently on bench: Minicraft/Hasegawa 1/72 A6A Intruder

This may sound stupid and bleedingly obvious, but have you tried opening/adjusting the paint nozzle? Being a single-action brush, paint flow on the "HS" is controlled by manually adjusting the nozzle. If it's fully closed, no paint will flow.

Also I would ask if it worked up til now? Could a gob or flake of dried paint been sucked up into the nozzle? Could be that it is clogged and needs to be broke down and cleaned.

I use Badger 350 and it it almost the same design, and this happens from time to time..

Either that or not enough air pressure. How many PSI are you running?

Well it is the first time that I have used it. I also adjusted the nozzle all the way from one extreme to the other and back to half way again. Will keep trying something. As for air pressure, I do not have any type of gauge but seems like plenty of air coming out.

another quick question although I'm not super familiar with the Paasche airbrushes..

there should be a small vent hole in the lid of your paint cup.. if that is clogged then paint tends not to come out because there is no air going in to replace it... (happend to my badger once.)
