If I am clear coating with something like Testors Glosscoat I do NOT use Future first. I find the Testors glosscoat has a similar affect to Future.  So I find no need to do both.

Except for coating clear parts in Future, try to avoid coating  with any other clear coat, lacquer or enamel, if at all possible. In fact, it shouldn't be necessary at all, unless you wish to apply a tint to the clear part. Mask off all clear parts (if installed) before clear coating the model.

Applying a flat clear coat to clear parts will render them "frosted".

Do I need to use future or whatever on clear parts (canopies) before lacquering or enamel clear coating  them?
