I give mine a bath in some vinegar for a few hours-the acid etches the surfaces for a better bite, followed with a good rinse. Don't over do it as they will turn black. Don't do this at all for prepainted pieces though, as it could damage them.

Why can't I find the "Any" key on my keyboard?

I dont prime either....I do give my PE fret a nice soapy warm rinse just like I do the rest of the model to clean off any unwanted oils and grime, finger prints etc....I also give it a light sanding with a very fine grit to give a paint a little bit of "teeth" to stickto.

Good luck

That will be a matter of opinion that seem to divide modellers. Some will tell you you must always use a primer no matter what type of paint and especially when useing PE and Resin.

Personally, i have never primed a kit and i use lots of PE and use both Enamels and Acrylics.

I am a Norfolk man and i glory in being so

PE and Paint?

This being my second experience with PE and first with acrylics I thought I'd better ask. Do I need to undercoat PE parts before spraying with acrylics?
