I read about Don's drying booth. Then I had the idea of using a food dryer, the kind that makes jerky as I have one already.
The first problem was that the lid is very shallow so there wasn't room between the trays and the lid for the model. My test subject is a 1/48 Grumman Bearcat. I found a round cake storage bin from Tupperware in our stuff and the lid fit almost perfectly.
The second concern that was a problem as Don had guessed was temperature. Although it did not get too hot so as to distort the plastic it did tend to make the model slightly stick to the drying tray and blemish the paint. Temperature got to 140F. I moved the lid off center to vent and it was still just a bit hotter than seemed optimum. I removed the lid completely and recorded temps of 110F which seemed perfect and quickly dried the paints to a hard finish in 4-6 hours.
