About six months ago I took the plunge and purchased a Silentaire 50A...love it so far. The one thing I can think of is to make sure there is adequate oil (formulated for use in these compressors) in the motor housing. If there is, and the oil has been sitting there for 15 years, maybe an oil change is in order. Silentaire recommends annual changes with regular use.
