I agree with above poster. Sounds like you're spraying too close and too much paint on the kit - thus causing runs; ie: tiger stripes.

Strictly a guess, but if it resulted in a striped appearance, perhaps the AB was held too closely to the surface???? If held too close, the paint is likely to not have a uniform spray pattern and leaves stripes. If held too far away the pattern is spread out, but the paint can partially dry before going on the surface and you have a gritty uneven surface.

Suggestion, get some scrap plastic sheet, then experiment with pressure settings and distance from the surface. Let us know how it works, I'm interested in knowing.
