I agree. Scraping is fine for some model chores, but not removing paint. You can remove it with very fine sandpaper, but there are many products that remove model paints other than thinner. Some folks use overn cleaner, some use Purple Power, some use an STP product- forget its name. Most of these require little cleanup, though for any soap or detergent use you must remove every trace of the stuff. I use isopropyl alcohol- soap and water are not sufficient to remove it all.

I'm working on (among other things) a 1/36 scale Otaki yacht and in the course of rattlecan spraying the stern, I got myself a nice puddle spot.
Fixing it I'm thinking either scrape off the excess with a single edge razor, then sand it down and try again or use scrap pieces of T-shirt cotton to wipe it down with paint remover?
Or would either method be good?
