Difference between Testors 1260 and 1260T
Posted by Archimedes on Friday, June 4, 2021 5:44 PM

What is the difference between Testors 1260 (Labeled "Spray Lacquer") and 1260T (Labeled "Spray Enamel").  Both are marked as "Dullcote".  I ordered the 1260T from Amazon without realizing it was different than what I had.

I paint with water-based airbrush (Model Air) and water-based brushes (Citadel colors and washes).

Any problems with using the 1260T just like it was 1260?  I haven't been able to find any info anywhere.

Thank you!

Mark

Have used the laquer over acrylic without issue.  No experience with the dullcoat enamel, but you should be okay, just realize you have a lot longer cure/dry time, up to a couple weeks depending on temperature and humidity.

I have used the enamel dullcoat and glosscoat.  I see no advantage to me and the drying time is much longer than the lacquer versions.  I have not used a lot of acrylic enamel, so I don't need to worry about compatibility so am staying with the lacquer clear coats.
