Duckman,

MikeV is right, but check this out. Apologies; I posted this on another topic ...

Try looking on eBay. You can find top-of-the-line Paasche, Badger, etc. at great prices. In fact, there is an auction ending 8/11 for a Badger compressor and THREE Paasche VL's w/ accessories w/ a starting bid of $59.99!!! No bids so far, item #2339144399.

And, no. It's not my auction.

If your looking for a goodairbrush for cheap check hobbies, models, part, tools, and engines on ebay. I am going to get one from there and they are good airbrushes for cheap.

Sometimes there are great deals on Ebay and at other times I have seen people pay more for an airbrush on Ebay than you can buy it for new from Dixie Art or Bear Air. Go to the two places I mentioned and compare prices before you bid on Ebay to make sure you are really getting a good deal. Wink [;)]

Merlin,

One U.S. dollar is $1.39 in Canadian money which isn't a lot higher. It sounds like the prices at that LHS are much too high.
I wouldn't even step foot into a store like that.

Duckman,

Check out these two online places and see what it would cost to have it sent up there to the Great White North.

At the exchange rate an Omni 5000 from Dixie Art would run you $94.05 CAD. I am not sure what they would charge for shipping to Canada though.

Do I think $128.00 is a decent price for one? Nope. Not even if I liked them, because you can find them for quite a bit less.

duckman,
Maddafinga and I share the same opinion of the Aztek.
I paid a little over 80 bucks for one not even a year ago and have already retired it in favor of an Iwata Eclipse which cost literally just a few dollars more and I am much happier with it.
Aztek's major selling point seems to be the ease of clean-up but in reality the only way to get them really clean is to take the nozzles apart (which, by the way, Aztek doesn't recommend).
I find the Eclipse to be just as easy to clean if not more so.

However, if you've gone back and read some of the past posts on this subject you will see that there are many people out there who are extremely pleased with their Azteks.

Do I think $128.00 is a decent price for one? Nope. Not even if I liked them, because you can find them for quite a bit less.

In my opinion you can get yourself a better airbrush for less money but you just need to research research research and then hopefully make an informed decision.

I got my Iwata for $59 usd from Dixieart. Free shipping for the us too, it's a great brush and cheaper than my crappy Aztek was. I can't imagine that it would cost a whole lot to ship to Canada, check them and Bearair out, both have great prices.
