Free Aztec airbrush but..
Posted by Anonymous on Thursday, August 14, 2003 12:05 PM
.. there is a catch. I just picked up an Iwata. So when it gets here I am going to regretfully get rid of my Aztec! I know, I know its hard to believe but its true.Clown [:o)] So instead of selling it to some unknown on ebay I figure I will try something new. Its an off the wall Idea but I figure this is the best place to start.

I figure I will give the airbrush away. It will come with the airhose and a new acrylic tip that I have only used a few times. What I want to do is send it somebody who has not used one and let them give their personal pro's/ con's on the performance of this "fine tool"Evil [}:)] Also I would like to recieve some pics from the individual project that this brush completes. Notice... I said "people" I want this to be a community test. I will send it to one person.. and when they finish a project, they can pass it on to another forum member.Big Smile [:D] There is however a few rules:
1. the reciever must have a minimum number of posts. I dont want to send this to somebody who is just going to keep it and forget about this fun idea
2. I would propose a 2 week time limit ont he "project" I'm not looking for perfection.. just some different views of different people results with the infamous Aztec brush.
3. when the tip starts to wear out somebody has to buy another one for 5 bucks at your local hobby shop.
4. Have fun and keep the forum updated on progress and thoughts on the tool.
5. Air supply. You need your own air supply. Sorry, I cannot send my compressor!Wink [;)]

So.. what do you guys think? Wanna try it. If we can get somebody out of country that would be cool. But you have to send me a postcard or trinket!!Big Smile [:D] To offset the shipping cost of course! So everyone.. let me know!Cool [8D]

A couple questions;

1) Two week limit per person?
2) Do you want it returned (eventually)?

I think this is a great idea, it would get some real world reviews and people with little or no experiance with an airbrush get a shot at "try before you buy"

Yeah two weeks sounds good to me and no I don't ever expect it back. Thats part of the fun. I want to see how many peoples hands it will fall into. All experiance levels. I say two weeks so it can keep moving. I would rather not have one person have it for a month and then it gets forgotten about. If enough people show intrest in the next few days I will flip a coin or something and ship her out for use. I dunno about a project name... If anyone has any ideas.

I would actually like the first person I send it to be a helicopter buff.. since those are my favorite kit followed very close by WW2 warbirds.

Nice idea. By the way, how many posts will qualify as "enough"?
