The Grey's
Posted by karlwb on Monday, September 15, 2003 3:37 PM
I've been having a bit of a nightmare painting my Eurofighter Typhoon. It's moulded in grey, I have painted it with Humbrol undercoat - it's the same shade of grey as the plastic, and then Humbrol 167 RAF Barley grey - it's the same shade as the undercoat - it's been a real pain to see where I have painted, you have to just catch it in the light so you can see whats wet!

Any handy hints from you paint masters out there?

Thanks.

Work in a very well lit area. When everything is the same shade, it can be tough. It's either that, or squint alot.

Use a different color primer (maybe too late for that...) I try to use white in a situation like this...

Otherwise, lots of light and a keen eye are about the best you can hope for...

Thanks guys, for some reason I managed to see the second coat a bit better this time as it went on.

Cheers
