hey Lizard, I use nothing but acrylics. I use both Tamiya and Model Master. I thin them using Isoppropyl Rubbing Alcohol. You have to work with the mixtures though, it sometimes varries with different colors. I get mine at Wal Mart for $.98 for 32 oz bottle.I clean my a/b , using water mixed with dish soap. For cleaning brushes I also use the alcohol. Just a tip though, if you try and cleanup a mistake , i.e a spot of paint on another color, dont use the alcohol to clean it up. It leaves the paint frosty, kind like what c/a glue does. Just use sopa and water.
One more tip, when sealing, dont use any of the laquer sealers, they will eat up the acrylics.I use an acrylic sealer found at craft stores, but Ive had a few disasters with that as well, only because I didnt wait at least a day for the paint to cure. I just bought Model Masters acrylic dull coat, but I havent tried it yet. Feel free to email me if you have anymore questions. , tim
