Tamiya X22 clear coat
Posted by Anonymous on Wednesday, October 22, 2003 9:43 AM
I'm new to using this type of clear coat, I have only used automotive clear coat in the past, but it is very toxic.

The question is, is it airbrush ready or do I have to thin it? What's the thinner/coar ratio?

Another question is, I have the X21 flat base, what's the ratio for semi gloss and flat cleat coats respectively?

Thank you.

Thin it with isopropyl alcohol, or the Tamiya thinner (more expensive option). As for ratio, experiment, but you'd need something that has the consistency of milk.

I only use the flat base to represent frost on the ground, so I can't help you there...

Swanny,
What do you mean by 30% ? Is that like 1:3 ratio or 30 X22 70 Thinner ? I can certainely agreed with DJmodel1999 about the frost application.
