Decals on Future.

Brush another coat of Future and let it cure for a day or so, then spray clear flat acrylic over to kill the gloss.

Be aware when using this technique that the decals are permanent.  Once the Future cures there will be no going back.  If you place the decal on top of the cured Future you can still re moisten it and move it later if you need to.

Thank you for the input.  I went with plan B.  There was another post the same day as mine, with the same question, & I was following it.  There are always so many ways to do the same thing.

I recently adopted the wet Future technique and love it. I always go with plan A to protect decals from oil washes and weathering.

I'm new to this. Is the testor gloss you're referring a brush on or rattle can? Can you use gloss spray can on the decal after applying it to seal it?

Future doesn't yellow over time as lacquer may over white paint. Future can successfully attach stubborn decals that refuse to stay down and curl. Future will get rid of the  "step" effect from thick decals. Future can be hand brushed producing glass smooth surface. One model car builder was featured on a FSM article where he hand brushes Future as a final gloss coat on his model cars.

Future will also produce a barrier coat for solvent based washes. Lacquer gloss or flat will dry very fast and produce nice finishes but Future has far more advantages than the latter product.

I use both Future and lacquer but depends on what I need it for.

I've never had a problem with Future that wasn't "operator error".  There may been folks having problems with some new version of Future, but the original formula is a very good modeling product.  Your mileage may vary of course.
