!@$## protective sheet stuck on.
Posted by GlennH on Sunday, December 1, 2019 4:06 PM

Just wrapping up a model (AFV club) and found that thin sheet of protective paper is stuck to the sheet of decals. I tried in a couple spots to pry it away with no luck. Any suggestions?

AFV club has a missing defective parts form but trying to find an address is futile. Also their web site is not functioing as far as submitting a question.

I'd try cutting out what you need and soaking the whole thing together.

Modeling is an excuse to buy books.

GMorrison

I tried a piece and it didn't seem to help. Even if it did I wiould have to do the whole thing at once because I can't even see the tiny white decals below the white cover sheet to cut them out individually.

It would be nice if this AFV club gave a darn address on this form or someplace. I'm gonna try and see if I can get a new set from Scalehobbyist. They were great about sending a part that was missing once.

Did you try gently warming  with a hair dryer?

Don't panic if it starts to curl. Maybe the 2 layers will curl at different rates and start to separate.

No guarantee, but worth a shot if nothing else is working.

Perhaps try them on their Facebook page. It appears to be active and not abandoned.

I contacted Scalehobbyist yesterday and they wrote back a few minutes later. Says it may have been high humidity and will try and sent me another set. I saw an address for AFV club but could not make heads or tails over how much of it was address!
