Hi,

I've used Canon, Epson and HP inkjet printers for making decals and don't think there's a significant difference. My old (8 yrs) Epson C88 is my personal choice because it uses pigment (DuraBrite) ink rather than dye based ink. Pigment ink is water resistant - dye based is not - and since I also print on tissue and water shrink, pigment ink is better. But for decals I don't think there's a big difference. Just make sure you use the highest quality setting for printing.

I concur. I am now using an Epson, and it is a bit easier to seal the decals.  Even Epson inks are not completely waterproof, so you still need to seal them with a clearcoat.  But I find the newer Epson inks a bit more resistant to common clearcoats.  I mention in my recent article in FSM about inkjet decals to be very careful applying the overcoat.  With some inks you must be super careful.  Epson inks tend to be a bit more tolerant, but the clear/overcoating is still a demanding step.
