It worked! The bigger ones come out a little better.

An excellent idea !

You must have accumulated a lot of gold stars when you were very young.Surprise

Did you use a laser printer to produce the stars on the backing sheet?

This is brilliant.  With a good straightedge and a sharp blade, It looks like a winner.

As long as the decals needed are not too small, cutting them out is fine.  Do an outline of the background color helps cutting.  If the stars are very small, take great pains to match that background color, so you do not need to cut super-accurately.

Brilliant - so simple that it hurts to wonder why I've never thought of doing that myself!

I'm currently putting together a bunch of US Army armor models from the early sixties time frame, in Germany.

Think Elvis in "GI Blues".

Try as I might , simple white star decals are hard to find.

After some thought; Bing.

Print star on the back of a white decal sheet and cut them out.
