re-applying older decals that fall off

i have a 1/43 scale Trofeu Porsche 908 manufacturered around 2003. it's a tiny little thing.
on the rockers are flat black decals and over top of that on each side is a little Martini logo. recently, one of the logos fell off, but fully intact.
i took some Vallejo Decal Medium (alcohol base), brushed it on the area, applied the decal, brushed some on top, then blotted to remove the excess. now it's drying.
is it possible it will stay? the decal is glossy, the rocker decal as i mentioned is flat, so i am hesitant to apply anything else on top as that would require some fine brush work and a few different products, but i do have Vallejo Decal Fix (which is pretty flat) and of course all of their various sheens of varnishes.
if i can get away with it staying as is, that would be best.
