Thanks Djandj, I'll locate some and give it a try.

Yes - take a brand new sharp tip x-acto blade and poke small holes all over the areas that have silvering. Take a brush with Micro Sol (the red bottle) and dab a good amount on. You will see that it actually gets UNDER the decal and will soften it to conform better and will remove most (if not all) silvering. You can repeat the process until the silvering is gone.
Best of luck with it
Make that a double, bartender.
I guess there's nothing to lose trying to get the Future dissolved, which should take the decals with it. Try soaking the areas with ammonia.
Modeling is an excuse to buy books.
This kit had been stored for years and even though I applied the decals over Future they silvered badly. Water soak times were sometimes over 5 minutes to get them to release. I have a new set of decals but the ones on the plane have been sprayed over with flat clear acrylic. Grrr, what a mess. It looks like I'll have to repaint the affected areas and start over. The bottom looks OK but the top is not going to work. Any ideas?
