Polyester & microfiber swabs
Posted by Bobstamp on Wednesday, March 25, 2020 6:03 PM

I am trying to buy some polyester and microfiber swabs to use for polishing scratches and blemishes away from scale model aircraft canopies. Modelpaintsolutions.com in the U.S. sells them, but won't ship to Canada or any other country. Does anyone know of a source for these swabs that would ship to Canada? (I've tried both Amazon and eBay, but haven't seen the same product.)

P.S. I ordered bottles of Novus 2 & 3 scratch remover from Amazon. As I understand the issue, these are used in conjunction with the swabs.

Almost finished: Airfix 1/72 HP.52 Hampden bomber & Minicraft 1/48 T-34 Mentor trainer. Starting to work on Italeri 1/72 UH-34 Seahorse helicopter & Academy 1/72 F-86F Sabre.

Try expanding your search parameters.

The swabs are called a number of different names, depending on the end-user. In the automotive world, these are detailing swabs; laboratories use them for clearing optics, like the lenses of microscopes; IT call them either laser-optic or ink jet printer cleaning swabs; and in electronics assembly they call them laboratory quality safety swabs.

If you try those different terms, you're bound to find a supplier willing to ship up to the Great White North. Lab supply houses, electronics specialty outlets, office supply stores, and auto parts places are good places to consider shopping for swabs, as well as both e-Bay and Amazon.

Thank you, KnightTemplar5150, for your advice. I did as you suggested after going to Amazon.ca and found these polyester swabs:

Here is the Amazon.ca link for these swabs.
