Review of Dremel Stylus tool

I agree. It's my most-used power tool. Also agree on the chuck lock location.

Had that one for a few years now. I love the fact it has variable speeds. 

It's that time of the year.  Dremel sells a version of their battery powered Minimite tool for pumpkin carving.  Ignore the jack-o-lantern face on the label.   It is two speed, but with stale batteries it's speeds are useful without being too fast to melt plastic.  The tool runs on 4 AA batteries.  The collet size accepts standard Dremel 1/8 shank burrs. 

I picked one up at Lowe's a few years back, as a post-Halloween sale item, list was about 20 bucks.  Check the big box stores and craft stores

Yeah, looks pretty good.  Thanks for the review!  I find I can hold my Dremel like a pen or a stylus, though, so I wouldn't get it myself.  I don't say that to discourage anyone else from trying it, though.  You can't go wrong with Dremel.

I picked one up at Wally World for about $30, and I like it too.

However, I also have a pistol grip Dremel tool, with rechargeable batteries, that they made about 10 years ago.  It is much easier to hold and control than the Stylus model we are discussing here.  I wonder why they were on the market such a short time.  This is the one I generally use for most of my grinding or drilling needs.

I bought the Harbor freight version, same tool $30.00

I've had that one for over 2 years now as a Christmas present. Love it and definitely love the variable speed feature. I'm surprised it took you this long to get one.
