John,

Your right about the cost, $5 for 1 oz. That's why I only bought a 1 oz package. As few aircraft as I build though (I'm more of a ship person) I thought I would give it a try and see if it would work or see if it would react to the plastic.  I've got some lead wool (similar to steel wool) that I will keep using.

I'm a fisherman.  I use tungsten for most of my weights. It is pretty expensive.  I don't know if I would use it to weight aircraft.  For me I'll use up my old steel and lead weights for the planes and buy the tungsten for fishing.  JOHN

If you have a Golfsmith store near you, get the powdered tungsten used for weighting club heads.  It can easily be poured intothe nose of an aricraft then sealed with a bit of clay or some thick CA glue.

Was wondering if any of you have used Hobby Exteme's or any other brand of tungsten weight putty in plastic models. I don't want to seal anything up in an aircraft nose that may soften the plastic over time like some other putty and clays I've used in the past.
